A FLORESTA MILENAR / THE MILLENARY FOREST is a natural scented candle infused with the smoky aroma of Lapsang Souchong black tea from China.

This candle is part of a unique collection of tea-scented candles, born from a collaboration with Companhia Portugueza do Chá.

All now burn in a dark blaze — a fire that’s as mesmerizing to the eyes as it is to the senses, with smoky, woody, and forest-like notes.

What remains is mankind’s eternal fascination with the divine flame.

A one-of-a-kind candle collection imagined by two passionate creators.

To craft these scents, three fine teas were selected by Sebastián Filgueiras, tea sommelier and founder of Companhia Portugueza do Chá. Based on these, and the expertise of a perfumer from IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances), the final, natural fragrances were created.

Candle details:

This candle comes in a handcrafted black clay (barro negro) vessel.

The clay is processed using an ancient Portuguese technique called soenga, practiced today in only two villages in Portugal.

The deep black or mirror-like color of the barro negro comes from a reductive wood-fired kiln, in which oxygen is restricted during the final firing stage. This method renders the vessel completely black and naturally waterproof.

Since barro negro is unglazed, we recommend always placing a heat-resistant base or the candle’s lid underneath while burning.

Each vessel is handmade, one by one. No two are alike — each piece is uniquely imperfect.
